Just below the waves where the surfers ride lies another world. The La Jolla Ecological Reserve is home to many underwater creatures and a divers playground. Unfortunately litter does make its way into the ocean, but being apart of a group of ecologically aware divers, we make it a point to pick up trash in our playground should we come across it. The Red Octopus made a play toy out of this beer can and wasn't too keen on letting go of it when I tried to pick it up. He affectionately and now famously has become to be known as the "Drunk Octopus".
