Air Integration

Pair the O.i Wrist with compatible O.i wireless transmitters to monitor cylinder pressure directly on the dive computer. The system supports up to three transmitters, with each transmitter assigned to a separate cylinder.

When properly paired and within range, pressure information updates automatically and can be used to provide cylinder pressure, Gas Time Remaining, and gas-consumption information. Oceanic recommends keeping the wrist computer within approximately 1 m / 3 ft of the active transmitter for optimal communication.

The O.i can also help manage cylinder changes during a dive. When changing to another configured cylinder, the diver selects the appropriate cylinder on the computer so the active gas and decompression information remain synchronized.

Gas Rate & Gas Time Remaining

With air integration active, the O.i tracks Gas Rate, Oceanic's simplified presentation of surface air consumption. The computer uses this information along with current depth and available cylinder pressure to estimate Gas Time Remaining.

A customizable cylinder reserve pressure can be set so the computer calculates remaining gas only down to the selected reserve rather than assuming the entire cylinder supply is available for use.

Decompression & Conservatism

The O.i uses the Bühlmann ZHL-16C decompression algorithm with Gradient Factors. Preset conservatism options include Low, Medium, and High, while experienced divers with appropriate training can use custom Gradient Factor settings.

Conservatism settings can sync across supported Oceanic+ devices, helping maintain consistent preferences between the O.i, Oceanic+ ecosystem, and compatible devices.

Multi-Gas & Nitrox Planning

The O.i supports up to three configured breathing gases and can provide visual and haptic reminders when a more appropriate configured gas becomes available during the dive. Each gas can have its own oxygen percentage, PO2 setting, and calculated Maximum Operating Depth.

Certification Note: The O.i's Nitrox planning functions support mixtures from 22% to 100% oxygen; however, the O.i wireless pressure transmitter's EN 250:2014 certification applies to compressed air only. Nitrox planning and use are outside the EN 250 pressure-indicator certification scope.

Compass & Underwater Navigation

The built-in compass allows the diver to mark a heading and monitor deviation from that course. A visual indicator shows both the direction and degree of deviation, while an integrated timer can remain active alongside the compass for course-and-time navigation.

Depth trend, heading, deviation, and elapsed time can be viewed together to support underwater navigation without leaving the compass screen.

Digital Dive Slate

The Digital Dive Slate provides a customizable underwater reference screen. Text is prepared beforehand in the Oceanic+ app or WebApp and then synced to the O.i.

The slate can be useful for instructors carrying training reminders, working or technical divers referencing task information, or recreational divers who want dive objectives and notes available underwater.

Customizable Display

The upper portion of the dive display keeps primary information such as current depth and no-decompression information visible, while the lower secondary area can be scrolled using the NavDial.

Secondary screens can be customized to include or exclude information such as the compass, timer, gas summary, settings recap, and Digital Dive Slate, allowing the underwater display to be tailored to individual diving preferences.

GPS, Altitude & No-Fly Tracking

At the surface, GPS can be used for time synchronization and surface-location information. The O.i also combines GPS and barometric data to detect changes in altitude and automatically adapt decompression calculations without requiring manual altitude settings.

After diving, the computer displays no-fly information based on the dive profile and tracks relevant post-dive altitude information.

Oceanic+ Connectivity

The O.i can connect with the Oceanic+ app and Oceanic WebApp for dive-log syncing, device configuration, firmware updates, language packs, Digital Dive Slate content, and other supported settings.

Dive logs can be synced after diving and enriched with additional information through the Oceanic+ ecosystem.

Battery & Charging

The O.i uses a sealed rechargeable battery with wireless induction charging. Typical active use is approximately 20–30 hours per charge, depending on factors such as display brightness, environmental conditions, wireless features, and screen activity.

The computer also uses automatic sleep and power-saving states to reduce consumption when it is inactive. In typical conditions, charging from approximately 20% to 80% takes about 30 minutes using an appropriate 5V charger.

Mounting Options

Both a conventional adjustable wrist strap and elastic bungee mounting system are included, allowing the diver to choose the preferred way to secure the O.i to the wrist.

FAQs

Does the O.i Wrist include an air transmitter?
No. The O.i Wrist supports wireless air integration, but compatible O.i transmitters are sold separately.

How many transmitters can the O.i connect to?
The computer can store and manage up to three compatible transmitters, with each transmitter assigned to a separate cylinder.

What decompression algorithm does the O.i use?
The O.i uses the Bühlmann ZHL-16C algorithm with Gradient Factors. It provides preset conservatism levels and an advanced custom Gradient Factor option for appropriately trained divers.

Can the O.i be used for Nitrox?
The computer provides Nitrox planning functions for oxygen mixtures from 22% to 100%, including independent PO2 and MOD information for configured gases. The wireless transmitter's EN 250 certification, however, applies specifically to compressed air.

What does Gas Time Remaining mean?
When a compatible transmitter is connected, the O.i uses current cylinder pressure, depth, reserve pressure, and gas-consumption rate to estimate how long the available breathing gas will last under the current conditions.

Can I change cylinders during a dive?
Yes. Multiple cylinders can be configured before the dive, and the active cylinder can be changed from the O.i during the dive. The selected gas is then used for the relevant display and decompression information.

Does it have a digital compass?
Yes. The built-in compass supports fixed headings, real-time deviation indication, and an integrated timer for underwater navigation.

What is the Digital Dive Slate?
It is a customizable text screen that lets you carry prewritten notes underwater. The content is created in the Oceanic+ app or WebApp and synced to the O.i before the dive.

How long does the battery last?
Oceanic lists typical active battery performance at approximately 20–30 hours per charge. Actual battery life depends on settings, display use, environmental conditions, and connected features.

Do I need Oceanic+ to use the O.i?
No. Connecting to Oceanic+ is optional, but it enables features such as dive-log syncing, firmware updates, language downloads, Digital Dive Slate content, and easier synchronization of settings.

How deep is the O.i rated?
The computer itself is designed and tested to 100 m / 328 ft. The EN 250 certification for the wireless pressure-indication function applies to compressed air and is tested to a maximum certified depth of 50 m / 165 ft.

Expert Insight

The O.i Wrist stands out by combining advanced dive-computer capabilities with an interface intended to remain approachable. The large color screen and NavDial simplify navigation, while Bühlmann decompression, custom Gradient Factors, three-gas support, optional three-cylinder air integration, a full navigation compass, Digital Dive Slate, automatic altitude adjustment, and Oceanic+ connectivity provide room for the computer to grow with a diver's experience.
