Care & Maintenance
Rinse the computer thoroughly with fresh water after diving, especially after exposure to salt water, and allow it to dry before storage. Keep the battery compartment and sealing surfaces clean and inspect the battery compartment O-ring according to Shearwater's instructions when changing batteries. Install batteries using the manufacturer's specified polarity and battery recommendations, and follow Shearwater's instructions for firmware updates, servicing, and long-term storage.
Expert Insight
The Perdix 3 is designed to serve as much more than a first recreational dive computer. Its large AMOLED screen and straightforward interface make it approachable for everyday diving, while four-transmitter air integration, Trimix, decompression, CCR, gauge, and freediving capabilities provide substantial room to grow. The user-replaceable AA battery is also a significant practical advantage for traveling and technical divers who prefer easily sourced power rather than a permanently installed rechargeable battery.
